In Graphic Design Since High School
I got my start in Graphic Design at Fulton High School. Mr. Miracle was our teacher. We had offset printing press, cutter, stitcher, dark room, and much more. After I graduated high school in 1995, I then continued on to college …
I went to Pellissippi State Technical Community College and got my Associates of Applied Science Degree in Communications Graphic Technology. I finished schooling in 2000.
I have been in graphic design my of all my adult life! I have worked mostly for advertising newspapers or publications. I did work for 2 different sign companies during that time.
I honestly think I learned the basics in school and the majority of it hands on doing, working as a graphic designer. Some of the publications I got to work for include Star Publications, The Knoxville Journal, Farragut Press and The Smoky Mountain Trader. However, my ads I built could have been in many other publications too! That is because we trade ads and send ads to other publications too. (Some clients do run in more than one publication!)
I am starting a new adventure with a printing company that has printing presses (both offset and digital), they have bindery equipment (cutter, folders, collators, etc.) and they have much more! I am excited for this change.
