Viva Magenta is Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2023
This Pantone color number is 18-1750 TCX and is called Viva Magenta. To me, this color is a dark version of plain magenta.
Viva Magenta is described as a “brave and fearless red shade” by freepik.com and Pantone adds this color is a pulsating color whose exuberance promotes a joyous and optimistic celebration. They also add that Viva Magenta is a balance between warm and cool. They also add this color is a hybrid color.
Viva Magenta’s organic origins hail from the cochineal beetle and being red, it is a celebration of life.

In 2022, I never used Very Peri in anything I printed or designed. I don’t see myself using Viva Magenta in 2023 either. I do not know how they pick these colors.
